ARTWORK

Every beer can produced by Naito Beer has a label showing artwork by upcoming artist Satoko Naito a.k.a. Rico. Not only is Rico an amazing artist but is also the wife of craft brewer Ray Naito. It was therefor not a difficult decision to combine Ray's art of brewing with Rico's unique artwork.

Rico

Rico was born in Japan in 1980. She attended Musashino Art University in Tokyo obtaining a BA in Visual Communication Design in 2006. Later she attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and received a BA in Fine Arts. She moved to Canada in 2012. After living in Jasper, AB for 9 years she moved to Kimberley, BC.

Rico works as an artist and illustrator using different media and techniques to express her art, including watercolour, acrylic paint, pen, and coloured paper. She also makes paper collages and lamps. Exploring new subject matter and seeing the unexpected finished work is what gives her the most pleasure in making art.
